Share a Memorial Video: Download and Service Playback Checklist

Laptop, USB drive, headphones, and checklist prepared for memorial video playback

Prepare the exact file, playback device, display, audio path, connectors, operator, and backup before a funeral or celebration of life. A successful test on one screen does not guarantee the venue setup will behave the same way.

Start with the file MVM provides: the finished download is a 1920 × 1080 MP4. Confirm that the venue accepts that file, then ask for its preferred transfer method, deadline, playback computer, display or projector inputs, audio route, operator, test appointment, and exact time slot. The creator does not offer custom export formats or resolutions.

Download the purchased file before the event

After you purchase an eligible completed video, My Dashboard provides a Download Video action for the clean MP4. It creates a short-lived attachment link. Save the file to a local computer before the event; if the link has expired, refresh the dashboard and use the action again.

Open the saved copy from the local drive, watch it from beginning to end, and confirm that video, captions, transitions, and audio are present. Local storage makes that copy available without depending on a live dashboard session or internet connection, but the playback software and hardware still need to support the file.

Current output contract

Those are the current finished-download settings, not a promise that every device accepts the file. Test the downloaded copy on the venue’s actual equipment rather than renaming, converting, or assuming compatibility at the last minute.

Venue and playback checklist

  1. Confirm the handoff. Tell the venue you will provide a 1080p MP4, then record the venue contact, deadline, preferred delivery method, exact playback slot, and who presses play.
  2. Name the playback device. Confirm whether the venue uses its own computer or expects the family to bring one, and identify the software that will open the MP4.
  3. Trace the display connection. Identify the projector, television, or switcher input and who owns every required HDMI, USB-C, DisplayPort, or other adapter and cable.
  4. Trace the audio connection. Confirm whether sound travels through HDMI, a headphone output, an interface, or the venue sound system. Test volume, intelligibility, mute controls, and the operator’s cue.
  5. Bring two local copies. Keep the verified MP4 on the primary playback computer and on a separate venue-approved USB drive or backup computer. Label both with the person’s name and version date.
  6. Arrive early for a full test. Play the opening, a middle section, the ending, and an audio-heavy moment on the actual setup. A short desktop preview is not a venue test.
  7. Agree on a fallback. Decide who will switch devices, use the backup copy, continue without video, or reschedule playback if hardware or venue systems fail.

Downloaded video and memorial page are separate

The downloaded MP4 is a local file. It can be played without loading a hosted memorial page, and a family can copy it to approved storage or hand it to the venue. Once a copy leaves the account, memorial-page settings cannot retract or control that copy.

A memorial page is a separate hosted surface. Current controls distinguish owner- or valid-guest access to drafts from published pages. Purchasing or downloading a video does not by itself describe the page’s visibility, and sharing a page link is not the same as sending the MP4. Review the intended audience before publishing a page or distributing a file.

Need help with the file? Use Memorial Video Maker support before the venue deadline. Include the project name and describe the device or venue requirement, but do not send account passwords or private family media through an unapproved channel.

Memorial video download and playback FAQ

Can I download a purchased memorial video?

After you purchase an eligible completed video, My Dashboard provides a Download Video action for its clean MP4. The action uses a short-lived link, so refresh the dashboard if it expires. Save the file locally and verify that the saved copy opens before the event.

What finished file does Memorial Video Maker provide?

The finished download is a 1920 by 1080 MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio. The creator does not offer custom export formats or resolutions, so confirm that the venue accepts the standard file and test the actual downloaded copy on its playback equipment.

Will the video play on every projector or television?

No universal compatibility is promised. The display, playback computer, software, cable, adapter, audio route, and venue policy all matter. Test the final downloaded file on the actual setup or a venue-approved equivalent.

Is a downloaded video the same as a hosted memorial page?

No. The MP4 is a file that can be stored and played locally. A memorial page is a separate hosted surface with its own draft or published state. A copied video file cannot be recalled through memorial-page controls.
